First EKG reader for Apple Watch has been cleared by FDA

Recently FDA cleared the first EKG Apple watch accessory, AliveCor’s  KardiaBand, which is used to detect abnormal heart rhythm and atrial fibrillation. This device helps the users to get an EKG reading within 30 seconds and sending that information to a doctor for further analysis. 

By using AI algorithms, KardiaBand can estimate and analyze one person heart rate. This device plays an vital role in diagnosing abnormalities and alerting healthcare professionals in emergency conditions. 

AliveCor is introducing SmartRhythm, a new feature in its Kardia app which is used to detect an abnormal heartbeat. This technology assess the correlation between heart rate and activity, if the data appears abnormal then the device will alert the user to record another EKG reading. This device also allows patients to describe their symptoms by speech recognition function. This app then examines the data which is recorded and send that information to the corresponding physicians.
